About
Since its establishment in 2019, the Oeconomus Economic Research Foundation, which is focusing on economic, geopolitical, and their overlapping areas, has embarked on a remarkable journey, becoming an indispensable actor in the domestic public discourse. The range of professional materials produced by our analytical team has significantly expanded in recent years. In addition to shorter and longer analyses dealing with domestic economic policy issues and international geopolitical and economic trends, we are publishing an increasing number of printed publications. Furthermore, we produce professional videos and podcasts, as well as organize professional debates and larger conferences.
Our goal is to analyze in a more widely comprehensible manner the challenges of domestic economic policy, the responses to these challenges, and the outcomes. We strive to present good international practices and draw attention to their adaptation in the domestic context. The challenges of the 2020s have focused attention on the identification and analysis of domestic and international economic, geopolitical, and geoeconomic trends, which are necessary for the use of international practices and for preparing certain decisions affecting the economy. Over the past three decades, especially in the last 10 years, economic and geopolitical visions have emerged from the Hungarian government that have placed Hungary on stable foundations and set it on a dynamic development path. The multitude of extraordinary solutions has provided an opportunity for the analysis of results and trends. The attention directed towards the Hungarian model has been inspiring for conservative-minded workshops, making us more sensitive to monitoring changes in economic and geopolitical events, as well as in the field of future research.
The destructive events of recent years have shown that for the use of international practices and for preparing certain decisions affecting the economy, it is essential not only to identify and analyze domestic and international economic and geopolitical trends, but also to provide medium- and long-term forecasts based on these trends on the most important issues affecting Hungary.
